Global Working Group on Working Conditions of Young Doctors
Securing reasonable working conditions for young doctors seem to be a challenge in clinical medicine in every part of the world. Long working hours beyond what is healthy for the doctor and patient is a universal complaint. In recent years, we have witnessed many demonstrations and strikes of young doctors raising awareness of the need of decent working conditions. New young doctors organizations are being set up in various countries to join forces.
The theme of World Young Doctors Day 2014 was Working Conditions of Young Doctors. The response to this theme showed the large interest and importance of this issue. As a spin off the Global Working Group on Working Conditions was established, with the aim to put the concerns into action.
